Report: US Would Make Internet Wiretaps Easier

Story here. So if this will happen your can't basically trust any technology that came from USA. That includes Microsoft products(which probably have wiretapping ability for a long time), Cisco(which powers the internet mostly) and a lot of others. Thank god we have a open source alternatives.

Location-based social networks: new threat

EFF run article about new facebook places product. Well this new things so called location-based social networks which allow you in form of game share your current location and places your have been. I don't get it, really. Why would you want share you location with the world in the first place? If you want go to a club with friends why not just call them or send them a private message? This just stupid. Imagine someone hacked your foursquare account and trying to set you up for suspecting in robbery or homicide case check-in in the crime scene on the same time as crime goes. This sounds like a paranoid  bullshit but are your sure you want that sort of troubles? Because again this type of information will be used against you sooner or later. My recommendation is not using this type of service

HP CEO browser history revealed

Are you sure you have nothing to hide? May i look into you browser history? At least he is not watching gay porn...

Who will watch the watchers

There are story about root CA(certificate authority) which raise important question - can we trust the "web of trust" ? The answer is no.
Just check out CA list in your browser - can your sure anyone here can't abuse they power and issue legit certificate to phishing bank site for example? Can your trust Chinese government? But your browser trust!(CNNIC)
Same with the DNS system. We should trust by default to root servers and root CA's so there are no much we can do and there are no alternative to current infrastructure.
Some tips: 1) Delete CA's your don't trust from your browser and OS CA list(but remember this can break some software so be sure what your are deleting) 2) Use local hosts file or your own DNS server and manually add ip->names pairs for critical services or use only IP if you can.

WSJ interview with Eric Schmidt

WSJ publish a interview with Google CEO. Your must remember who is Eric is and what company he is represent because Google is your worst enemy right now and we talk more on this topic later. But for now some notable quotes from the interview.
"I actually think most people don't want Google to answer their questions," he elaborates. "They want Google to tell them what they should be doing next."
This is it that what they really want to do with they fancy free services and data they collect. They want absolute power of our lives and influence our thoughts as much as they can. Your see in the future they will tell your who to vote as next president, what to buy and where to live. Are you really want give them that much power?
"we know roughly who you are, roughly what you care about, roughly who your friends are." Google also knows, to within a foot, where you are.
They even doesn't need to hide this...
"I don't believe society understands what happens when everything is available, knowable and recorded by everyone all the time," he says.
Sure they don't. Then why is he so frustrating about his own personal information?
